• Delaney sat at the edge of the bed, her eyes constantly fixed on the door, hoping Adonis would walk in at any moment.
• Her teary eyes were swollen from crying for too long. She regretted a lot of things, including coming over to confront Adonis. She should have just allowed the police to do their job.
• The door finally pulled open and she saw the monster walk through the door. He was holding some shopping bags in hand as he walked leisurely into the room, totally ignoring her as if she never existed.
