- The driver just nodded. Approximately an hour later, the car finally came to a stop in front of a traditional Chinese-style courtyard home. Then, I got out of the car with the documents in hand and walked up to the door to press on the doorbell. Moments later, the door quickly swung open—Eric’s bodyguard, Georgie, was the one that opened the door. Thus, it was clear that the person I was meeting today was Eric. Georgie nodded at me with an indifferent expression and gestured for me to follow after him.
- The house was enormous. It couldn’t be seen from the outside, but once inside, the size of the place amazed me. It had its own private swimming pool and a flower garden. After traversing the cobblestone path that cut across the courtyard, we finally came to the living room. Georgie led me to the living room door, then gestured for me to go inside before turning around and leaving.
- Upon entering the living room, I saw Eric, dressed in casual clothes, sitting on the sofa and flipping through a newspaper. The warm morning sun shone into the room through the floor-to-ceiling curtains, bathing his entire body in a golden glow. The sight of him was as beautiful as a painting—so much so that I forgot to walk. I stood there blankly as I stared at him in a daze.
