Chapter 46. Manipulation
- After the young woman agreed to go to the dinner, Christian called Jonah back to confirm his attendance at the dinner, but Jonah informed him that he would be able to make it in the next two weeks. Inevitably, though, he couldn't help but feel that something was or would be wrong. He ran his hand over his head in a gesture of frustration, he regretted agreeing to this, he should have convinced Lynda not to go, but he left it up to her to decide.
- Although it worried him, the fact that he might see Lynnet, because he didn't want to hurt her, and surely that would happen when she saw him happy with his sister while he had pushed her aside, alone waiting for a baby, the haze of remorse enveloped him, he wished so much that he could stop feeling this guilt that was there, insistent, without letting go for a moment, even though it happened to him when he brought up the woman he had met about running her over, his Lyn.
- He ended the call, went to find Lynda, found her in the kitchen, she had changed into a short pajama set, exposing her beautiful legs, he grabbed her from behind, still holding her, nibbling at her neck.
