Chapter 40. Too Much Hurt
- Christian walked anxiously from one side of the room to the other, waiting for Isaac's arrival, his friend was not very receptive to him and it was understandable after what had happened, the fear gripped him inside, he did not look away from her even for a moment, no matter how many times he tried to wake her, she did not do it, he did not know if she was sleeping or unconscious.
- He put some water on her head and changed it every now and then, that was how they used to bring down the fever at the orphanage when they were sick, but in Lynda's case it wasn't enough, the fever wouldn't go down.
- He took her back to her room, he couldn't leave her where she was before, she wasn't fit anymore, it made his heart shrink to think that she would end up wetting her bed; now he had her there, after he had tidied her up and combed her hair, she looked fragile, innocent, if he didn't know who she was, he would end up believing that she wasn't the harpy everyone knew about.
