• A trick he is willing to fall for. He wanted to know what she had up her sleeves. It was rare as Lucas knew what she was up to and even asked all about her personality thanks to Luis. She intrigued him every day and Lucas wanted to see the new plan she’s devised. During the time she was in the house, Cecil watched her. She couldn’t see him around the house because Cecil was very good at hiding himself. If only she had looked close, she would have found him lurking in the shadows waiting for her to escape and then lunge.
• So far, she hadn’t broken any rule and had stayed inside her room like an old lady, occasionally coming out to stroll around the house. Cecil had reported to him that he has found her staring at the lock suspiciously. Lucas smiled as he knew she wanted to find her way out.
• The woman from last night was probably safe in her home. The both of them were foolish. Laurel was foolish to think he would kill an innocent woman who knew nothing about him except his reputation as a businessman of course while the woman was foolish to think she’d die if she slept with him. Yes, she had asked foolish questions, he was angry, but it wasn’t enough to take her life.
