Chapter 13
- Laurel refused to accept her fate. She refused to adhere to Lucas’ warning and with the thought of escape on her mind, she opened the door. Walking down the stairs, she scanned the entire room with her ears peeled open for any form of violence.
- It wasn’t her fault. She had to be prepared for the day she’d die. No one ever sees a man commit murder and live to see the next day. This thought made Laurel to pause mid way. If they don’t live to see the next day, why then is she still alive? Were they waiting for a ceremonious killing? Laurel cleared her throat as if to ward off such thoughts from her mind.
- She needed to get out of here and fast. “Laurel! Stick to the plan.” She said, willing herself to be calm about the whole situation. It was the only way Laurel was able to keep herself calm of the whole saga.
