Chapter 56

• That first day, they'd walked into the dining room and the second he'd seen Copeland he'd kissed Alexis. Claiming her in front of his partner and employees. The man had narrowed his eyes but did nothing mainly because Alexis kissed him back with the same intensity he did her. It was truly one of those moments Ray felt like he was on top of the world. He got the girl in the end. And boy did the girl tease him but he loved every second of it until she whispered 'two days' in his ears. When they sat down to eat, other employees flocked to their table, thanking him for his generosity. He was so busy talking with them that when he felt Alexis' hand on his thigh he jumped. Ray excused himself, saying his ringing phone had startled him. Which was a lie. He needed a chance to brace himself. By the time he got back to the table from answering the fake phone call, the whole office was at their table chatting excitedly. He had a mind to sit far away from Alexis but then she looked up and smiled at him making him inwardly groan. He wasn't going anywhere.
• He hadn't been able to get up for the next hour. Alexis had left him with a raging erection that wouldn't go away no matter what he thought about. It was painful, sitting there and trying really hard to think about something else that wasn't Alexis related. And that was just the beginning. By the end of the day, he was limping like her. God help him but what had he been thinking? What man out there made such suggestions out loud? He cursed himself a million times because this was his doing. He'd turned Alexis into what she was right then. A siren.
• They'd decided to spend another week there since he needed a break after Spain and she had quit. When Alexis wasn't busy seducing him, she was asking questions about starting a business. He answered as best as he could and when he thought she was done she'd surprise him and change the subject completely. Or kiss him. If he tried to take it further, she would say she was still sore then crawl out of his lap. It was sheer torture seeing as she did it on purpose. Arouse him that is. Cold showers did nothing for him. Funny thing is that she wouldn't help him at all. Which is why he lost it in the middle of the week during dinner.
