Chapter 279

"I'll be here when you're ready," he said softly. "I'm not going anywhere."
Bridget nodded and walked out of the room. William watched her go, his heart breaking for her. He knew that she was hurting, and he wished he could take her pain away. But he knew that he had to give her the space she needed.
As the days passed, William tried to give Bridget the space she needed, but he couldn't help but worry about her. He didn't know what was going on in her head, and he couldn't stop thinking and found himself losing sleep, tossing and turning, unable to get her out of his mind. He wondered if he had done something wrong, or if there was something he could have done differently. He just wanted her to be happy, and he was afraid that he had pushed her too far.
