• While the meeting was going on, I kept an eye on Larissa's phone. I know that Noah's concern at the moment is focused on the little girl. If he could cancel his entire schedule for the week, he would do it just to get to know her better.
• Even though she's not my daughter, I worry that she spends more time with a stranger than with her father or even with me. She's a lovely child, and from the little I could talk to her mother, she did her best.
• As the meeting was taking place, one of the investors who brought us here for Mr. Walker's approval of his project informed us that unfortunately, the engineer in charge of the construction couldn't be present. He had traveled the previous week to assess possible locations for the resort in the Philippines, but due to bad weather, he couldn't return to Chicago. However, he had sent all the reports and provided the necessary information.
