• I entered the labyrinth with Lola, the noise from outside muffled as soon as we crossed the threshold. Missy and Lauren, another girl team, entered beside us. I glanced over to see Brandon and a young blond man who looked about 18 heading into the male labyrinth - the boy did not have a partner and Brandon, ever the gentleman, proposed to team up with him.
• The full moon cast dim light over the towering maze walls of thick foliage. Since I was lighter, I clambered onto Lola's shoulders to get a better vantage point. Peering out, I spotted a glimmer of light at the far left end.
