• The air in the room of Xavier’s manor crackled with energy as I focused on my mental shield, along with Savannah, Brandon, and Isabelle. Concentrating on blocking out everything except for the four of us, I couldn't help but notice the tension radiating from Isabelle. She seemed frustrated and distracted.
• "Isabelle," I said gently, breaking the silence. "I can't imagine how you must be feeling after your wedding ended in chaos. Are you upset that you have to train for the Trials instead of going on your honeymoon?"
• "Ugh, don't even get me started," she scoffed. "But honestly, despite hating Celeste for being a major bitch, I'm glad she's alive and well."
