Chapter 21

• The sun was setting as I stood on the porch of the ranch, watching Marcus and Xavier drive away. The cool night breeze brushed against my skin, and I couldn't help but feel a little lonely without Xavier by my side. But I knew he had important matters to attend to, and we'd be reunited soon enough. The alphas were invited to a ceremony in memory of Bruce, Xavier’s former mentor.
• "Serena!" Ashley called from inside the house, her voice playful and teasing. "Get in here, girl! We've got some talking to do."
• I sighed and turned toward the door, knowing there was no escaping the inevitable conversation with my newfound packmates. As I walked into the living room, I saw Nat, Ashley, Savannah, Isabelle, and Brandon all gathered and grinning at me mischievously.
