Chapter 53 Vow

• FUKAYNA
• The family cemetery was located on a small hill not far away from the palace grounds. It was serene and well-kept. The grass was well manicured. The autumn flowers⸺pink dahlias and pansies⸺gave bright colors to the otherwise lifeless graves. There were about over a hundred of them there, as these were also my ancestors.
• I couldn’t seem to believe that my parents were already down there in their coffins, covered by dirt. I could never see them again. I wouldn’t be able to hold them in my arms again or hear them scold me, pleading with me to come home.
