Chapter 43

Claire lay in bed and watched Hunter sleep so peacefully. Everything seemed different now, and she had a different view of him. She didn't know what the future held for them.
Her mind was filled with thoughts of the short time she had spent with Michael. Claire was confused about what he really meant and worried about what dangers were in store for them. She thought about telling Hunter about Michael's warning, but it wasn't the right time.
Claire turned over on her back and stared at the ceiling because she couldn't fall asleep. She put her hand on Hunter's mark and caressed it, still not able to fully accept that she had mated with the man who used to haunt her dreams.
