Chapter 8 Go With Me Happily, Okay?

  • "What a lot of money?" Madeline became more interested when she heard about the opportunity to earn.
  • "There's a freelance job tonight at a club, with a night scene. You just need to serve and promote drinks. You'll earn 150 for the night, plus commission. Are you interested?"
  • Promote drinks?
  • Madeline hesitated. She had never done this kind of work before but knew those clubs were not simple places.
  • But 150 for one night was indeed very tempting for her.
  • She usually worked as a cashier in a supermarket, earning just over 15 a day, which was nothing compared to her father's rehabilitation costs.
  • She needed to keep earning money to feel secure.
  • "Don't worry. This club is high-end. My friend has worked part-time there several times without any problems. That's why I dared to invite you. You need money badly, right? I saw you eating instant noodles at lunch."
  • Fanny saw her concern and kindly explained to her.
  • During her four years of college, many of Madeline's part-time jobs were recommended by her, and they were reliable.
  • "Okay. I'll finish this drawing and then go with you."
  • Madeline nodded and quickened her pace.
  • At 7 p.m., she followed Fanny and her friends to the club.
  • Due to the referral, the supervisor took good care of them. Madeline was assigned to a relatively harmonious private room, and things went smoothly.
  • She was not good at promoting wine, so she kept pouring wine for the customers.
  • For her, the guaranteed salary of 150 was relatively high, even without a commission.
  • Fortunately, the customers were easy to talk to. She stayed in the private room for three hours until the customers were ready to leave, and then she found time to go to the restroom.
  • As soon as she entered, she almost bumped into a man. She instinctively tried to avoid him, but the man blocked her with just one look.
  • "Oh. Madeline, what are you doing here? Are you accompanying drinks?"
  • What a small world!
  • She didn't expect to run into George.
  • He seemed to have had a lot to drink, with a flushed face and a strong smell of alcohol. When he saw Madeline, he came over with ill intentions.
  • "Are you accompanying drinks? Why don't you just accompany me?"
  • "I don't know you well. Please let me go."
  • Madeline instinctively tried to escape, but he stubbornly held onto her, pulling her tightly into his arms.
  • "What's there to not know about? After sleeping together, we'll be familiar, right? Honestly, your face looks really innocent, and your body is clean. I really want to sleep with you. Stop pretending and just come with me, okay?"
  • George pressed her against the door, lowering his head to get closer.
  • "George, let go of me."
  • Madeline was getting anxious, trying to push him away with all her strength, but it was useless.
  • "Hmph. I couldn't get you back in school. But on my turf, I won't let you escape. Stop struggling and don't worry. I'll make it less painful for you later."
  • George held both of his wrists tightly. No matter how she struggled, he just wouldn't let go.
  • Madeline was so anxious that she was about to cry, and he pulled her clothes askew. In this noisy place, she shouted at the top of her lungs several times, but to no avail.
  • Seeing that he was about to kiss her, she clenched her teeth tightly.
  • "Bang!"
  • The bathroom door frame was suddenly kicked, interrupting the entanglement between the two.
  • George glanced irritably in that direction, and when he saw the man's noble and indifferent face, he stood frozen in place.
  • "Uncle Logan?"
