Chapter 11 A Woman Hidden in Logan's House?

  • Upon saying those words, Madeline felt her cheeks burn. Since their last encounter, she had been experiencing stomachache for several days. Although the discomfort had subsided, she was immediately tortured by him again last night, only to wake up to the familiar cramping sensation this morning.
  • Logan's movements paused momentarily, and his gaze shifted toward her legs.
  • "Does it hurt again?"
  • Madeline nodded awkwardly, admitting, "It's the same kind of pain as before, and it's very uncomfortable."
  • Logan pursed his lips, a hint of darkness flickering in his eyes. Placing the water glass on the coffee table, he uttered, "Stay here."
  • A few minutes later, he emerged from the bedroom with two boxes of imported medicine, which he handed to Madeline.
  • "This is pain relief medication. Take it once a day after a meal. If the pain persists after two days, go to the hospital and ask for me."
  • Madeline quickly stashed the medicine in her bag and expressed her gratitude.
  • "Now go." Without another word, he headed back to the bedroom, leaving her behind.
  • Having had two instances of "close contact," Madeline somewhat grasped his usual reserved demeanor. Since their relationship was initially transactional, she considered it a privilege that he allowed her to spend the night.
  • As Madeline packed her bag and prepared to leave, the doorbell suddenly rang.
  • Startled, she instinctively looked up and saw a familiar face on the small screen at the entrance.
  • It was George!
  • Madeline's heart skipped a beat, prompting her to return to the living room, her face flushed with nervousness and embarrassment.
  • "What's the matter?" Logan inquired, noticing her unusual behavior as he poked his head out.
  • "Your nephew is outside," Madeline blurted with a blush. Recalling how George referred to Logan as his uncle the previous night, she was taken aback by his unexpected visit to Logan's apartment.
  • Wouldn't it be too embarrassing if George saw her here?
  • Logan appeared momentarily surprised but quickly composed himself. Tying the belt of his pajamas, he gestured toward the bedroom with his chin.
  • "Head in first."
  • Understanding his implication, Madeline promptly entered the bedroom and shut the door behind her.
  • After taking a glance at the slightly disheveled living room, Logan walked over and opened the door.
  • "Uncle Logan, why did it take you so long to open the door? My dad asked me to bring you some documents..." George's voice drifted in from outside and was faintly audible through the bedroom door.
  • "You've delivered the documents. Now leave," Logan stated bluntly, urging him to depart.
  • "Wait. I have something to discuss with you." George attempted to appease him and got straight to the point, "It's about the incident at the club last night. Can you not intervene in my affairs anymore?"
  • Furrowing his brows, Logan gave him a sharp look. "What do you mean?"
  • George smirked. "It's about the girl from last night. She's a sweet and innocent girl, and I heard she's a virgin, pure as can be, so I wanted to sleep with her."
  • Logan's eyelids twitched as he casually glanced toward the bedroom, his expression devoid of warmth.
  • "No."
  • “Why not?” George was puzzled.
  • Having spent money on women before, he found Logan's sudden interference perplexing. The shift from a passive observer to an authoritative figure was hard for him to accept.
  • "She's not the right choice for you," Logan stated firmly.
  • George still couldn't accept it. "Do you think I'm disrespecting her because of her innocent appearance? Let me tell you, she even recently sold her eggs for money. Many boys at school are interested in her. Even if I don't pursue her, someone else will. Whoever sleeps with her doesn't matter, does it?"
  • Upon hearing this, Logan pulled a long face.
  • Recalling how Madeline had been crying on his bed last night and finding out that she was being coveted by others made him annoyed.
  • "I don't care about other people, but for you..." He issued a direct warning, "I want you to watch out. If I find out you've done something you shouldn't have, you know the consequences."
  • George couldn't help but shiver.
  • Thinking of his uncle's past pranks, he felt intimidated.
  • "Okay, fine, I get it. I won't pursue her."
  • Logan gave him a cold look and turned to the wardrobe to change his clothes while saying, "If you have nothing else to say, then leave. Don't wander at my place."
  • George watched him walk away and sighed helplessly.
  • Just as he was about to leave, he caught a glimpse of a figure under the door of the bedroom, causing him to stop in his tracks.
  • Did my usually aloof and cold uncle bring someone home? And is that person hiding in the bedroom? Could it be a woman?
  • George's playful side suddenly emerged as he lifted his foot and walked toward the bedroom.
  • Madeline was crouched behind the door, carefully listening to the sounds outside, but there was no movement for a long time.
  • The next second, the tightly closed door suddenly opened.
