• “What’s going on, Harvey?” Both Martin and Alice could smell the heavy scent of women’s perfume on Harvey’s body, and he got home at such a late hour without informing anyone of his whereabouts. Alice wasn’t prepared to believe what was going on, for she had just started to accept Harvey. It took her such a long time to develop her faith in him, yet he ended up giving her such a large ‘surprise’.
• Harvey didn’t know how to explain himself as he looked into Alice’s bloodshot eyes. “I went out with a few friends,” he finally said.
• “Friends?!” Alice shook her head. Since when did Harvey have such nasty friends? They all stayed out late, and he even came back smelling like another woman’s perfume.
