Chapter 154 Dmitri Hawthorne
- “Why do you bother with all this, Mandy?” Dmitri’s eyes were cold as he gazed down at her imperiously. He used to call her Mandy when she was a child, but now the nickname just sounded like a bad joke coming from him.
- Amanda glared at him from where she lay on the ground seething, and through gritted teeth, she hissed, “It’s such a shame that I couldn’t end you.”
- He chuckled. “Yes, well, I’m afraid I have a knack for staying alive even though there’s a long line of people waiting to kill me.” With a contemptuous scoff, he heaved Amanda onto her feet and dragged her into the Ebony Club, thereafter imprisoning her in one of the hidden rooms upstairs. Having done so, he asked thoughtfully, “I am rather curious as to why you came back to kill me when you’ve been suspicious of me since the day before.”
