Chapter 9

• Alex managed a smile, she can't believe the old man still recognized her. It was just twice she made an appearance here yet he remembered her. That's heartwarming.
• "Josh here claims Alex is his girlfriend"
• Luke said with a look of tiny hope in his eyes. His grandfather knows Alex so maybe he would help him stop Josh from his madness.
• "So Josh, I did not know you two were dating Miss Coker, what a world, and I was not aware"
• He said glaring at them both. He scanned Alex and realized that it might be a misunderstanding. It looks like Josh is up to one of his jokes again. If not, why would he handcuff and drag her like that?
• "Alex darling, I am sure you have got something to say about this. Kindly tell me why you are handcuffed by this rascal grandson of mine"
• Senior Bleak urged her to speak up. Alex grinned to herself. If Luke could betray her it's best she pays him back here and now. She saw the opportunity and decided to grab it. If Josh said she is his girlfriend, she can't wait to see the reaction that will play on Luke's face if she says yes, however she doesn't know what would be the outcome. Would she be able to escape if she says yes? That means, The old man would see her as a betrayal but what about Luke, is he not the biggest betrayal? So no one should blame her for any action she is about to take
• She looked from the rascal like the grandfather called then to Luke and settled her focus on the old man. Everyone was waiting for her anxiously, Josh was smirking while Luke was pleading with his eyes and Senior Bleak was waiting for her patiently to speak up.
• "Mr. Rascal was my ex, I met him before I met Luke but our relationship did not work out. So today I bumped into him after Luke broke up with me. He asked for forgiveness and I refused to accept him back then he forcefully brought me here. I was not aware that they are brothers"
• Alex said and everyone stared at her shocked. Josh was speechless, he did not realize that she is a good liar. What would make her to admit having a relationship with him unless she wants to get back at Luke which is the only possibility? Damnit, his Christmas just got better.
• Luke opened his mouth and closed it. He knew almost everything about Alex except this. So Josh was Alex's ex? This is interesting, from the look of things it seems his chance of getting her back is slim. He decided to watch and see how everything plays out.
• Senior Bleak was having a headache already from all these dramas. Whatever Josh's reason is, he is not supposed to drag her like a criminal.
• "I see, so why are you in handcuffs, is it a must to go back to him, my dear?" Senior Bleak questioned her further.
• She sighed and bite her lips.
• "Sir, I did not want to go back to him just yet. I wanted to think about it but that does not mean I don't love him, I just do not want to appear cheap but now that it's like this I have no choice" She said and made a puppy eye.
• Senior Bleak was confused as hell, he is not really understanding this generation. He hopes she is not threatened by Josh for her to accept quickly. What is he to make out of this?
• Luke dropped his hands and fumed, there is no way he is letting his big bro have his girlfriend, never. He does not know their story but he doesn't care.
• He would fight heaven to have his girlfriend back whether she likes it or not. He stormed inside leaving everyone stunned.
• Josh shrugged his shoulders and made to leave but was pulled back by his grandfather.
• "Where do you think you are going, young
• man?" Senior Bleak asked with a slight frown on his face.
• Senior Bleak thought it was time to teach his grandson a lesson. They have got a wedding to host. After all, his younger grandson was to have his wedding tomorrow but because of what happened, it was canceled however it looks like a wedding was going to hold anyway.
• "Don't you think you are forgetting something, loose your bride and take her inside? We are having a Christmas wedding after all. You have made me proud, son. See you inside and don't forget to tell your parents to be home soon enough for the wedding"
• Senior Bleak said and went inside leaving confused Alex and beweird Josh behind. Alex blinked severally. Did she hear him right?
• Damnit, how the hell did she get there? Wedding, tomorrow, how, naw, it's not happening. She is not a fool, she only wanted to see Luke's reaction and now it has backfired. How can she get married to a man she just met today? It's not what she planned for.
• She had to do something and fast. She heard a click and realized that she had been freed.
• Josh stared at her and smirked.
• "You are so smart. You just converted an opportunity to your gain like the gold digger you are. When I saw you I thought you were different from other girls. I did not know that you are so like them. I should not be surprised, Mrs. Josh Bleak. You know I can't say no to the wedding because grandfather would not hear of it but that does mean I am married to you. I just wanted to have a little fun with you but you decided to convert it in your favor. Wow! What a well-played game."
• Alex stared at him lost. It was his fault anyway.
• "Kudos to your smart thinking, welcome to hell, baby girl. I am not nice, you will surely regret this, see ya."
• Josh concluded and walked away leaving the confused Alex to stand there mopping.
