Chapter 68 Daughter
- Alexis embraced the warm body beside her and remembered the previous night. Her body also recalled it, so she still felt tired. Today would be the last day in that house, and she felt a mix of relief and gratitude to God. She admitted that everything was becoming too much for her. At least she had the opportunity to meet Andrew's family, something she had never experienced before, and they were quite welcoming. If she and Andrew hadn't resolved their issues, she would probably be counting down the hours for everything to end, but in a negative way.

She was thankful for being the first one awake; otherwise, Andrew might make jokes or tease her. While going through her morning hygiene routine, something whispered in her ear, causing a shiver and a flutter in her stomach. She had never felt that before, and there seemed to be no apparent reason to be nervous. It was just a wedding, and afterward, they would return to Los Angeles, where she would start a new job and hopefully receive good news about the investments in the orphanage. Perhaps that's exactly what was frightening her.
