• I am getting along well with some people who could be allies in the future. Bella left with Russo after he approached me to thank me for coming and chatting with me about trivial things, like how my stay here has been since Bella told him I am in the city for business. I was polite and somewhat embarrassed as I thanked him for inviting me, and then she joined my friend and disappeared.
• I find myself slightly tipsy at one end of the room, away from the others. I want a moment alone, feeling suffocated. I take small sips from my glass of whisky, turning my head from side to side looking for the bathroom. Maybe I'll splash some water on my face and call home to check on the kids.
