Chapter 8 Heading Out To The Club

• "He is busy ", She sneered out but still l played it cool." "Okay, it is going to be only two minutes, please ring him, l have something important to tell him", I said simply. With no reply she picked up her phone and then told Mark that l'm here. As soon as she did, it only took few minutes before Mark made his way to where l was.
• "What the hell are you doing here, you can't just show up at work like that ", The first words he blurted out made me to raise my head in confusion. He was again angry and yet l didn't do anything to him." I have something l want to tell you ", l murmured humbly minding less about his attitude.
• "Make it fast then, l have better things to do than stand up here and talk with you ", This time he talked loudly and harshly that I saw people stop in mid motion and then began to watch us. At that l fall speechless, he has never spoken to me like that in front of people. Quiet, l felt my eyes heavy with tears. " I can't make a fool of myself infront of the people", I inwardly reprimanded myself as l calmed down.
• "Bella's mother is having the kids, l wanted to know if you could finish up early, we can have a night to ourselves, prepare some wine and make a nice dinner ", l murmured but by the time l finished up my sentence, his jaw was clenching with anger." Get a grip, some of us have to work for a living, am not like you who does nothing and l'm coming late, I'm sure l will be back in the early hours of the morning, you can make yourself useful and clean up the all house ", He growled.
• At his words, I saw Harriet smirk in the corner of my eyes. I'm sure l looked like an idiot for showing up. " I'm sorry, l understand l will see you at home ", I said and without waiting for his response, l walked away with my head down. However just as l was making my way out of office, my eyes fall on Mark's assistant boss Henry standing up probably waiting for me. " Alexa it's lovely to see you again, how are the kids ", He asked.
• "It's nice to see you too, the kids are fine. They are at Bella's parents. I am going to get them now '. l talked firstly while trying to not make my voice sound broken but still I failed. Am sure he heard the way Mark yelled at me in the public because he looked at me with sympathy on his face." I have got someone l want you to meet, he is going to take over after my boss retiring, he is Mr ..... ", . " I don't think that will be possible, send my greetings to Mey", l quickly stopped him in mid sentence and before he could say anything, l turned on my heels and walked away.
• " Am going out this time in the club ", making up my mind, l instantly drove to Bella's house.
• ADRIAN BALDWIN'S POV.
• "Boss here is the schedule that you requested for", l stared angrily at my assistant as he informed me about the business." Put it down", l retorted before shaking my head in anger. I was really stressed and tired. Being born in a rich family was sometimes not good. With a father, James Baldwin, l spent all my days and nights in offices.
• At sixty years of age, he is one of the most well-known billionaires in England and as his only son, he told me to be his CEO. I was fine with working but then all my moods ruined up, when he informed me that he invested in a company in New York and he wanted me to travel from England to New York and start working in it. Right l grew up in New York, had friends there but after traveling to England with my father, l lost interest in New York.
• Only focusing on work and meetings, l realized that it has been months since l had a drink. Right with the money and companies we do have, different types of wines are in my house but l wanted to take a drink while seated in a bar. In England l don't remember going in any of the clubs. My father is a bit strict and always wants me to concentrate on work.
• Now being in New York was the only chance for me to do whatever l did want. I can't even remember the last time l was in between the woman's legs. Models were around but still I had no time for them and secondly l wanted to have an innocent lady because all the sluts need money. All my mates are married with kids but l just have one night stands. Maybe if l find the right one, l will settle down and have her all to myself.
• "Oh! Hello Mr Adrian", As soon as the plane landed and l walked out, the assistant manager of the company my father had invested in greeted me. "Yes Henry am good", l replied with a smirk on my face. He was also one of the people l grew up with." What are you doing here anyway?, Mr James told us that you were going to join us on Monday. What has made you to arrive early?", Henry asked.
• "Just hate England", l shrugged my shoulders." I get you anyway Mey missed you", He murmured. He is lucky that he got Mey, they have through a hell of things but she had always been on his side. Hearing him say her name, l felt happy that they were still together in love.
• "I finished the business meetings earlier, l wanted to surprise you and your Mrs.... , l winked at him which made him to smile. " Well l will be in a hell if l don't take you to Mey for dinner, how about you come tonight". He asked. " I can't tonight, l'm heading out for a beer in a club, have taken a long ass of time without going to clubs", l shook my head.
