Chapter 7 What Is Your Name?
- Darian donned a white shirt, a pair of blue trousers, and a black suit jacket. He stood by the mirror side and checked himself. When he was satisfied with his look, he turned back to Lena who was still struggling with finding a decent dress to put on.
- She was ferreting the closet but she didn't like any of the clothes in there, she hadn't checked them until now, a small scowl marred her face as she rummaged through the closet. 'Why would Darian get her such indecent clothes?' She hissed inwardly, she was not used to exposing her body, and she won't start that now.
- "Haven't you figured out what to wear?" His cold voice propelled quakes to her insides, but she didn't respond to him. She continued the search and got hold of a blue dress that looked longer and covered more parts of her body. She picked it up and heaved a sigh of relief. She dropped it on the bed, standing by the bedside, she looked at him, expecting him to excuse her while she dressed up. "What's that? You should wear your dress and let's go. We're running out of time." His voice roughly rang out.
- Lena stood still and just nodded her head in understanding to his words.
- "Now!" He yelled.
- "Could you please excuse me?" She asked politely when he wasn't getting it.
- "Excuse you for what?" He was befuddled, he turned to her with a big scowl on his face.
- "I can't change my dress while you are here, and if you don't want to leave. I will go." She picked the dress and a few things she would need, she wasn't a make-up freak, so she just picked the powder, the brush, and her favorite lipstick. She was close to the door when Darian pulled her back and she fell on the bed with a loud thud.
- She widened her eyes, "Where do you think you are going to?" He demanded as he stared into her eyes.
- "To somewhere else to change my dress." She responded. Darian bent slowly to her level, she shifted and moved her legs up, she was scared. 'What was he about to do?' She thought inside of her as he moved closer to her, she closed her eyes and instantly opened them again. "I..." She was dumbfounded.
- "You should get the fuck up and change your dress this minute. Now stand up and strip!" He commanded.
- "No, I can't do that here. I can't strip while you are here."
- "I married you, you dummy! You belong to me now, your whole body is mine!" He yelled, she despised it when he shouted at her, and she didn't want more of it.
- Darian bounced up, leaving her on the bed. She stood up and grabbed the clothes again, she knew he was getting impatient as he gawked at her.
- She cursed herself for not putting on decent underwear, she didn't expect the situation to turn out this way.
- No man had ever seen her naked, would he be the first? He was her husband anyways, and either way, he would still wear her naked body someday.
- Lena gently undid the belt of her robe, her eyes were locked with Darian's, she pulled it off and it fell to the ground revealing her naked body, Darian didn't turn away when the robe fell to the floor, he stared at her body and secretly admired it, he had never seen her body, she preferred putting on big shirts and baggy trousers, he was thankful a day like this came up that she had to wear a dress, Lena shied away from him, she picked up her robe and was about to wear it back.
- "Don't do that, just dress up and let's go..." His voice was calm now, and Lena didn't want him to yell anymore.
- She dropped the robe on the bed and wore her underwear. She felt so embarrassed as she wore those tiny materials on her body, but she secretly hoped he liked the color of the matching bra and panties that she wore. Lisa had gotten it for her as a wedding gift, she told her she would need it for special outings and that she had to look sexy for her husband every time.
- Darian admired his wife's slender figure, her breasts were full in an appropriate way —just the right size for her, and he liked it. She had a tiny waist that fitted her not-too-large hips, he wondered why she hid such a beautiful body under baggy clothes, she should wear more dresses, he thought.
- Lena wore the blue dress, and it stopped below her knees, revealing her sexy long legs. The gown was strapless, and it fitted her elegant shoulders, she sighed and shrugged her shoulders when she was done. She went to the closet and found a pair of silver low heel silver stilettos, she fitted her legs into them and they suited perfectly. She ambled to the mirror to check out her dress, she packed her hair into a bun, laid the baby curls that fell from the hair, she was skilled at laying baby hairs, and she did that perfectly.
- Darian sat on the bed, glancing at his wristwatch for time, he was being patient with Lena, but he didn't want her to take too much time, they had just a little time left to get to the family house, and Gaius hated when people do not keep to their words.
- Lena looked at Darian, "I'm done." She said with a huff and an unsatisfied look.
- "Good!" Darian stood up from the bed. "When you are being asked what you don't know, don't give a response. Just wait for me to come in okay?" He warned and she nodded her head in understanding. "What's your name by the way?" He asked her and she was taken aback.
- "My name?" She repeated, to be sure she heard him right.
- "Yes, your name. What's your name?" He repeated, unbothered.
- Lena shook her head and scoffed at him, she had never felt that insulted. She got married to him, she had stayed with him in the house for days and he didn't know her name?
- "You said my name when we were taking the wedding vows." She reminded him.
- "I wouldn't have asked if I still remember." He retorted.
- "I'm disappointed. Who am I to you?" She asked him, as tears stained her cheeks, she was trying hard not to cry but it didn't work. How can her so-called husband not know her name?
- "That question is unnecessary now. What I need to know is your name." He insisted. Lena picked up her purse and glared at him.
- "You should figure it out." She left the room with a flounce.
- Darian went after her, he hated that she was making things difficult. He gripped her arms when she got to the living room.
- "Stop making this hard, tell me what your name is." He said, looking into her eyes.
- Lena shook her head disappointedly. "Lena Johnson!" She shouted and pushed him away. "That's it if you care to know." She hissed and left the living room, she walked into the garage with numbness in her heart, she was too sad to think that Darian didn't know her name.
- They got into the car, and Lena turned to the other side, she glanced at the road through the mirror in the passenger's seat, she didn't want to start a conversation with Darian, he didn't always talk to her though.
- "When you get there, you should be composed, and act right." He said, but she didn't respond to him. She pretended not to hear what he had said, he knew she was mad at him for not knowing her name, but that was the least of his problems right now.
- "Lena," her name sounded firm in his mouth, she turned to him with a questionable glare, as usual, his face had no expression, it was hard for her to know if he was angry or cool.
- "What do you want from me?" She demanded, still mad at him.
- "Your cooperation today, I don't want you to spit what you don't know. Those bastards are dangerous, and they would tame you, they would look for ways to make you say things you are not supposed to say, I want you to look at me when you don't know what to say, and I will come in for you." His eyes were fixed on the road as he spoke to her.
- He had told Jay to stay back. They had been getting some information about enemies who invaded their homes in their absence, and Darian felt it was a good idea to let Jay stay back, and watch the house with the other bodyguards in his absence.
- He took a cursory look and Lena and sighed, she was presentable and he couldn't wait to introduce her to the family.
