Chapter 5 Just A Puppet
- "Relax..." Vander whispered to her, huskily.
- Vander is sitting beside her, caging her in his arms. She does not know what's going on with his action but seems awkward. Absinthe still didn't recover from what had happened last month to DiVance Mafia. What she has witnessed is a merciless killing of her enemy.
- On that unusual day, she locked herself inside the room. Vander didn't give a fuck if she was hungry or not. It's not his responsibility to feed her but a second later after drinking his victorious shot, he goes upstairs and found himself knocking on it.
- Damn, why can’t I endure not seeing her around? Fuck this!
- "Absinthe, you need to eat," he said. He doesn't know what's gotten into her.
- Inside the room, Absinthe stood up from the bed when she heard a knock coming from Vander. Even though she has been hungry for a few days, she shoos him away. She doesn't want to see him, the El Señor she despises.
- "Go away! Eat yourself, motherfucker. You're a useless creature." A raspy and crisp swearing came out from Absinthe's voice. "I don't need your concern bullshits, just go away, walking sinner!"
- Closing his eyes, Vander walked away. Absinthe is trembling inside the room; she could not restrain herself from feeling furious with her enemy. She doesn't even know if the one who ordered her to kill was still alive. She thinks of a possible way of escaping.
- From sitting on the bed, she gets up, walked towards the bathroom, and took a bath. Wearing her button-down assassin's creed long-sleeve shirt, and a pair of trousers, and flat doll shoes, and aside from that, she also put up her eyes glasses before walking out of the room.
- Let's see if you won't beg me, Vander. And let’s see if you can't be more amazed at my elegance.
- She needs to behave from now. She wanted to escape from the mansion badly. She wanted to escape from Vander Costello's eyes. With all her might, she walks down the stair, roaming around her eyes but she can't see someone down there.
- She suppresses from smirking. She sat down on the couch, and fold her hands on her chest while thinking about a possible way of escaping and how she can contact someone.
- "I knew it!" she said in pleasing excitement but that excitement was changed when someone from the back cleared his throat. She stood up all of a sudden because of being startled.
- She throws a death glare at him. She gulped upon seeing Vander in his usual look within a day. Topless and sweaty body. She thinks that the man went again for his routine at the gym.
- Gulping, she thought of Vander as a walking meal. Walking sinner nourishment. Her palms and forehead are sweaty. Vander smirks at her, walking like a demigod.
- "Your mood is kind of light and ease, huh? What happen?" Vander asks her when their distance is close to each other. "Do you have something in your head?"
- Absinthe engulfed him, restraining her eyes not to look at his well-toned muscle and abs. "N-No, I don't have any in my mind. Just go away... you're too close." She intentionally pushed his chest with her index finger.
- Vander distance himself and shrugged his shoulder. "Okay," Vander answered and wink at her which made her roll her eyes and felt cringe about it.
- He didn't even argue with me, huh? Oh? How is this happening? Where's the Vander Costello who loves to argue with me?
- Love. Four letters she thought. The fuck! Where the hell that came from? Wake up, Absinthe. Don't think about love, think about how you can kill that sinner.
- Vander walked away. Her eyes followed him, every move of him, his walk, and that firm delectable ass he has. Oh my God! What are you thinking? She shrugged her shoulders and look away from Vander's back. She can feel something inside of her system. Something strange-wanting to touch that delectable back of El Señor.
- She's losing her mind. Vander is affecting her whole system. She's just denying it. She sat down on the couch again. Her plan of escaping and her bright idea about earlier was been canceled.
- Instead of carefully carrying out her plan, she remained silent in her seat. She roamed around her eyes and darted with Greco-Mafia men. She memorized every face of theirs, their actions, and most especially, their clothing.
- She was bored, she was hungry too. She waited for Vander to come out from the kitchen but he still doesn't come out. A few minutes later, she heard footsteps and laughter from the outside. Her eyebrows raised, she slowly stood up and walked for her to see who was outside but before she reached in there, the noise of two women and a man greeted her ears.
- The three were even surprised to see her. The woman in her red elegant tube dress just rolled her eyes at her and looked at her sharply. "Are you listening to our conversation?" she asked, annoyingly.
- She cleared her throat. "Oh? I am not listening to your loud conversation. It's not my fault."
- "Who are you? I just saw you now." The other woman in her black fitted suit said before looking at her companion. "I didn't know Vander had even hired a new killer." She shrugged.
- "Hey, where's Vander?" The man with a piercing in his left eyebrow asks.
- "Do I look like I kept people?" she sarcastically asks.
- Before the man with a piercing in his left eyebrow punches her, someone interrupts them from the back. The three smiled at Vander.
- "Hey, I didn't know you hire someone. She's a walking chick!"
- Vander glanced at her, but he also quickly averted his gaze at the three people who visited him without notice.
- "Solenn, shut up!" he commanded. "By the way, our lunch is ready," Vander said and turned his back, didn't even look at Absinthe once again. He didn't even ask her to dine with them.
- The three followed Vander to the dining. No one even asks her to come over. He just let himself stand there, hanging, and clenching her fist, ready to kill someone. She felt pain in her chest but she just shook her head.
- I shouldn't feel this. I should not.
- Absinthe was upset. She just shook her head because she was restraining herself from attacking Vander's companion. She just smirked and walked upstairs.
- She stayed in the room the whole afternoon of Wednesday not minding the growling of her stomach. She just spent her time reading some books on the shelf in Vander's room. Her growling stomach didn't stop but minutes later, she could no longer feel her hunger.
- "Oh? Who am I to dine with them, right? I am just their lowly prisoner. No one cares if I am hungry or not," Absinthe whispered and chuckled with annoyance.
- Someone knocked on the door but she didn't even glance at it and did not mind opening the door. The knocking continued but she restrained herself.
- "Why would I open the door if I don't even feel my hunger now." She rolled his eyes, "I'm just an assassin who tries to kill El Señor who doesn't care about me starving to death."
- She felt upset and sad. She doesn't even care. All he wanted to do now is to kill and torture El Señor of the Greco Mafia. Everything that Vander shows her is just a lie, a lust, and not a desire. Oh, well, she doesn't even give a damn because she doesn't want that undesirable pleasure.
- "You're just a waste of time, puppet El Señor." She swears in all of the Gods and Goddesses. "I won't let you affect my whole system, again."
