Chapter 29
- Jasmine wondered who was at the door, this late at night, in the middle of a heavy downpour. She was certain she had locked up before going to bed, but she couldn’t just shake off the feeling that she was not alone. Who could be coming over to her house by this time?
- She quickly puts on her blue silk robe and ties the rope, disrupting her breathing in the process; she loosens it a little, hastily this time, as the knocking was getting louder. She puts on her flip flops and dashes to the door, almost tripping at the living room “Cory?” Jasmine says in utter shock. What was he doing here? In her house, by this time and in the middle of this storm “Can I come in?” Cory asked, soaking wet.
- “What are you doing here?” she quizzes, opening and shutting the door quickly as she let him in. The rain had found its way into the house a little.
