Chapter 467 Uncovering My Wife's Secrets

• Preston Blake called Mina Simmons immediately. The latter answered. He told Mina her shoes were still with him and that he would fetch them. Mina replied she had something urgent to attend to and hung up quickly before Preston could say another word. Preston looked at his cell phone and was speechless. Preston seemed to be in limbo in the days that followed. His head was filled with images of Mina removing her clothes and the embarrassing moment she rushed out of the Blake Residence in slippers. Although Preston did not think less of Mina, he could not help laughing when he thought of her trying to get out of a tight corner. In fact, the thought of Mina made his productivity plummet for no reason. He became careless at times when signing documents. For instance, he would inadvertently write an additional zero when the budget had called for 400 thousand dollars instead. As a result, his assistant had to remind him numerous times to make the necessary amendments. At other times, Preston would get distracted during meetings and lose track of what he was talking about.
• The senior executives were equally aware of his strange behavior of late and talked behind his back, wondering what was wrong with the CEO. Some speculated that Preston was too unassuming and distracted by his father's court case, which was about to go on trial. Preston realized he had a problem. He liked Mina Simmons. His feelings for her made his heart ache. He contemplated for a while before taking the initiative to call her. However, he could not get hold of Mina. Preston wondered if she had blocked him. It could not be that bad, he thought. Even though he had seen her half-naked, so what? Moreover, he did not do it on purpose. Mina really had no valid reason to block him. Preston then borrowed his assistant's cell phone to call Mina again, but he still could not get through. He frowned and thought of calling Annalise Barton. However, he worried Annalise would tattle about him and Mina if he called. It would embarrass Mina for sure. After all, there was nothing between Mina and him. Preston soon lost the motivation to work. He disregarded all the documents on his desk and left the office after instructing his assistant.
• His assistant asked him where he would be. Preston gave an excuse that his sister needed help arranging her engagement ceremony. He had indeed gone to see Lianne Blake. However, his real intention was to visit Mina, who lived with Annalise nearby. Preston visited Lianne and chatted for a while before leaving to visit Annalise in the neighborhood. He walked over to Annalise's villa. Preston first greeted Annalise politely and then the sweetie in her tummy. "Where's Mina? Is she slacking off somewhere with her Medicine Manual?" he asked casually. Annalise smiled and replied, "Mina has left for a while. She said that she needed to go into seclusion for her exam." Preston was suddenly bombarded by mixed feelings. "How long does the exam. take?" he asked. He really wanted to know when Mina would be back in town. He even wondered if Mina tried to avoid him for some reason. He did not do anything to her for crying out loud! Sigh! Preston shook his head in frustration. "Well, she hasn't told me anything. Mina was someone who comes and goes as she wishes. She'll probably be back next month. No one can hold her back," said Annalise. "Indeed, Mina has an active personality," Preston smiled and pretended not to care.
