• I was shocked to see Manuel and Jake leave the packhouse, but when I received his mindlink I assumed he had had some bad news about Gabe. I hope Esme had got here in time.
• I let Alpha Jacob know where they had gone. While my family sat and spoke among themselves about their future. Right now my focus wasn’t really on whether they came with me to Midnight Forest or not. My mind was on Gabe.
