Chapter 26 Unplanned Distraction

• Chuckling, Max teases me as I playfully roll my eyes and maintain a small smile. He leans over, wrapping his arms around my waist and seating me on his lap. I straddle him, running my fingers through his hair and idly toying with the strands at the nape of his neck.
• "I think we deserve a reward for completing all that work in just two hours. What do you think?"
• "A reward?" I inquire, then shrug casually. "I'm not sure. Why don't you show me exactly what you mean?"
