Chapter 7
- Cassandra woke up without Sebastian by her side anymore. She stretched her body as the sun rays hit her face. Another day had dawned. The birds chirping came in bursts, bringing a small smile to Cassandra's face.
- When she stood up, she saw a small note sticking on her bedside table. She picked it up and read what's written loudly.
- Louise,
- I will not go to school today. The Council had called, I had no choice but to go. I don't know what they want from me, but I'll be back tonight, wait for me. I will miss you. Please, stay out of trouble and behave yourself.
- Sebastian
- Cassandra smiled after reading the note. She opened her drawer and put it inside. She quickly grabbed her towel and headed towards the bathroom. The lukewarm water cascading down her body was enough to wake her body.
- "He's sweet," her wolf muttered.
- "I know, right! And don't forget that he's also gorgeous," Cassandra replied. Her wolf instantly agreed, and both of them giggled like a kid. After wearing her clothes, she walked out of her in a good mood.
- "You looked happy," Lisanna said while putting the plates down. They decided to have breakfast in their room, considering what Cassandra has been through yesterday. "Did something happened?" she asked.
- Cassandra responded with a hum and sat on the vacant chair. Abegail knowingly looked at her and smiled. Cassandra returned it also with a smile and took a plate. It was Lisanna who cooked the meal. Lisanna didn't pester her again with questions and sat. The three ate happily while talking. Cassandra volunteered to wash the plates after. Abegail was the first to left the room, leaving the two.
- "Let's go together," Lisanna said, grabbing her bag in the process. Cassandra nodded her head and followed Lisanna, securely locking their dorm. They parted their ways when finding their respective rooms. Today, the lessons Cassandra had were about witches and wizards and their culture and history.
- "Okay, class! Don't forget your homework next meeting. Class dismissed," the professor said and fixed his eyeglasses. Cassandra was a bit disappointed, she wanted to learn more about the topic, but their hours were limited. The students left the room one by one. Cassandra felt at ease. No one paid attention to her nor threw their things with her. She began cleaning her table, and when she got out, someone covered her nose, and she fell unconscious.
- "Call boss."
- "No, you should call her. Bro, she's scary."
- "Fuck! Give me the phone!"
- Cassandra slowly opened her eyes. She glanced around and found that she's in the abandoned building, tied on a chair. Cassandra tried to move her body, but she felt weak. The drug used on her and the handcuffs made of silver are the reasons why she was weak and couldn't move.
- "Damn!" she muttered a cursed.
- "She's finally awake!" the man wearing a black shirt and a bonnet said and walked towards her. Cassandra glared at them. The other one followed while holding a phone in his hand.
- "Boss will be here soon. We'll have to guard her," the man said.
- "What do you want from me!?" Cassandra shouted with all her might.
- "We were just following orders, Miss," the man with a black shirt said and left her again. Cassandra kicked in the air. She tried pulling her hands, but it was numb by the silver cuffs.
- "I'm getting weak," her wolf whine.
- "Don't worry. We'll escape," Cassandra assured. Her wolf remained quiet again. Cassandra sat on the chair for hours. She doesn't know what to do. She was definitely strong, but with the drug on her system and a silver binding her wrist, it was futile.
- "Shit! There's someone out here!" the man shouted. "Shin, come here!" he added. Shin hurriedly went to his friend and saw him lying on the ground, groaning in pain. Shin's eyes widened in surprise, and took a step back.
- Cassandra saw her mate holding the man's neck up in the air. She gasped when Sebastian's eyes turned red. His fangs were elongated. Without sparing a second glance, he sunk his canines on the man's neck that turned him into ashes. He did the same on the man lying on the ground. After the two vanished, Sebastian wiped the blood off of his mouth. Sebastian slowly walked towards Cassandra with his bloodlust still on.
- "I clearly said on the note to stay out of trouble," he calmly said and broke the handcuffs. "So, what's this, hon?" he added and helped Cassandra stand up.
- "Those two were not ordinary vampires," he muttered and checked Cassandra's body to see if she was wounded. "Those were the ones someone hired to kill you," he added. Cassandra weakly grimaced. Sebastian carried her out of the building silently.
- Cassandra breathed a sigh of relief after finding out that her dorm mates were out right now. She was still feeling sick, but she was able to reconnect with her wolf. The drug seemed to have weakened. Sebastian brought her to her bed.
- "Are you okay?" Cassandra asked her mate seeing his pale face. Sebastian looked at her and pulled her close, snuggling her in the process. She put her head on his chest and listened to his calm heartbeat.
- "I should be the one asking you that, love," Sebastian said, kissing the top of her head. "Are you okay? Did they do something?" he asked, brushing her hair gently.
- "I'm okay," she said. "I felt utterly helpless earlier. I just sat there and couldn't do anything," she added with a sigh.
- "I'm sorry that you need to see like that," Sebastian said. Cassandra closed her eyes and inhaled his manly scent.
- "You did that to protect me. I really don't mind," Cassandra said and traced Sebastian's clothed chest with her fingers.
- "Did you find out who wanted me dead?" Cassandra asked. Sebastian couldn't help but laugh.
- "I didn't," he said. "I killed them when I saw you tied to the chair," he added earnestly. Cassandra nodded and sighed. She had someone on her mind who might be the perpetrator, but she couldn't carelessly point her finger without substantial evidence.
- "What did the council say?" Cassandra asked him. Sebastian froze on the bed and shook his head. She slowly sat up and stared at him. "Is there something wrong?" she worriedly asked. He smiled and pulled her again to lay on the bed.
- "Don't mind it. It's nothing," Sebastian said, dismissing the topic.
- "Are you sure?" Cassandra asked.
- "Yes. Everything is fine," Sebastian said. "Now go to sleep, hon. I will be here with you," he added and kissed her forehead. Cassandra closed her eyes, mumbled a goodnight sleep to Sebastian. She snuggled close to him once again and drifted to a peaceful sleep.
