Chapter 150 Renegotiations
- Kane
- Lord Gavin reluctantly hands over the Firebird in its cage to Thomas. He does seem regretful at having to lose such a rare bird in his collection, but he’s hardly at a loss. I’ve given him enough land and gold to keep his descendants in the lap of luxury for centuries to come. This Firebird has to be the costliest animal on this continent.
- “You will take the very best care of her, won’t you?” Lord Gavin asks. “She’s a delicate creature and very selective of what she eats and drinks. I only fed her special water from a spring I have imported from Maroon Moors. And she will not eat mice or larvae.”
