Chapter 6 How Will You Repay Me?
- Hart Group responded quickly, much to Myra's surprise. She had expected a big corporation like Hart Group to take at least a week to reply.
- On the other end of the phone, Logan spoke with the utmost politeness, "Miss Stark, Mr. Hart, our CEO, is fully in charge of the Sunny Bay development this time. He has already reviewed your design proposal and would like to meet with you to discuss this project."
- Myra was taken aback. Hart Group had a massive number of projects, yet the CEO is personally overseeing Sunny Bay?! She couldn't think of a reason why Tony would personally take charge. It can't be because he saved my life and now considers me an acquaintance, right? No, no, no! She quickly dismissed this absurd thought from her mind.
- "Thank you very much." Myra paused. "I'm grateful to Hart Group for giving Chase Group this opportunity."
- "It's because you have outstanding design abilities," Logan quickly added. "Mr. Hart would like to invite you to dinner tonight to discuss the specifics of this project."
- Sunny Bay had been a hot project since the beginning of the year, and it was initiated by Hart Group. For Chase Group, which had only been in the real estate industry for two years, securing this project was a significant boost.
- It was evident that the CEO of Hart Group was truly busy, even having to schedule dinner time for work. Although her dinner time was being taken up by work, Myra didn't hesitate to accept. She needed the opportunity to dine with Mr. Hart. Only then would Chase Group have a better chance of securing the project.
- Tilly attended to other work after they returned to the office in the afternoon, and Myra hadn't seen Elsie anymore since noon, and she didn't answer her calls either. As one of the people responsible for the design proposal, Elsie lacked a sense of responsibility. She should have gone with Myra to discuss this with Tony.
- When they arrived at the entrance of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Logan was already waiting there, his face beaming delight upon seeing her. Myra found it somewhat strange as if she were a distinguished guest. But in reality, she was just a designer hoping that her design proposal would be favored by the Hart Group.
- "Miss Stark, you've arrived. Please follow me. Mr. Hart is already waiting in the private room."
- "Sorry for being late." Myra hurriedly followed Logan.
- Just before they reached the room, Logan stopped and looked at Myra with a smile. "Miss Stark, if you encounter any difficulties with the project, feel free to come to me." He cleared his throat. "I've also seen Chase Group's design drawings. To have such talent at such a young age, I truly admire you, Miss Stark."
- With that, under Myra's puzzled gaze, he shifted his demeanor and respectfully opened the door to the private room in front of them.
- Perplexed, Myra walked into the room. As she heard the door close behind her, she turned around to see that Logan hadn't followed her inside at all.
- "Please, have a seat," came a deep, chilly voice from ahead, sounding like the last string of a cello.
- Myra turned around. She hadn't noticed earlier, but now she saw only Tony sitting alone at the table in the private room. He wasn't wearing a suit jacket, his white shirt sleeves were slightly rolled up, and his tie was loosened. Compared to how he looked in the elevator earlier, he appeared more casual now.
- "Mr. Hart, I apologize for keeping you waiting."
- Myra had thought that there would be many people from Hart Group, and she had filtered through the answers to the questions she anticipated being asked. But she hadn't expected to see only Tony.
- She wanted to express her gratitude in person, but she remembered that she had come here primarily to discuss work-related matters, so Myra awkwardly pulled out the chair opposite Tony and sat down, feeling a bit uneasy as she looked at the table full of food. Even though Tony had saved her life, she couldn't shake off the inexplicable pressure she felt around him. His sharp gaze seemed to see right through her thoughts.
- "Mr. Hart, I'm Myra Stark, the leader of Design Team A at Chase Group, and I'm also the main person in charge of the Sunny Bay Project. This is the initial draft of the project I designed. Please take a look." After introducing herself, she pushed the draft towards Tony.
- As she let go, Tony suddenly looked up with a faint smile on his face. "Miss Stark, do you have anything else to say to me before we begin?"
- Myra froze slightly, meeting his intense gaze, feeling embarrassed as she awkwardly withdrew the draft.
- Tony's eyes remained fixed on Myra's face, and although he was smiling, Myra couldn't discern his true thoughts. Had she been wrong to assume that Tony wanted to discuss work and also hear her gratitude?
- "Mr. Hart, thank you very much for saving me." She bowed in gratitude. She realized she should have thanked him first, and now that Mr. Hart had brought it up, it made her seem ungrateful.
- "Well then, how will you repay me?"
