Chapter 5 Could It Be Love at First Sight?
- With a click, the elevator jolted slightly.
- As Myra was still distracted, she faltered and fell toward Tony. Startled, she reached for the elevator's handrail. However, it was too late. The broad collar of the man's white shirt had already brushed against her forehead, getting close enough for Myra to smell the scent emanating from him—fresh and crisp, with a hint of tobacco.
- "Miss Stark!" Tilly, having steadied herself, was startled when she saw Myra's situation and hurried over to help her up.
- As Myra fell, she felt a hand delicately wrap around her waist, its joints distinct and its wrist quite powerful.
- "Miss Stark, are you okay?" Tilly asked with concern.
- Fortunately, Tony caught Myra in time, preventing her from falling. She had never had such intimate contact with anyone besides Sean before. After steadying herself, she shook her head at Tilly, then looked at the man in front of her, only to find Tony's face still devoid of any extra expression. However, his hand was still on her waist. The warmth from his palm carried a burning sensation, causing Myra's body to stiffen slightly.
- "Mr. Hart…" Myra felt a bit embarrassed. If only the elevator were a little larger, she wouldn't have found herself in this awkward situation.
- The man, who had been looking straight ahead, turned his head, seemingly just noticing his hand. His gaze swept over Myra's face, naturally retracting his hand, his expression still icy.
- No one else in the elevator seemed to be alarmed, so Myra didn't feel it appropriate to say anything more.
- Exiting the elevator, Tilly cast a lingering glance at the now-closed doors, patting her chest. "Oh my, I admit he's handsome, but his icy demeanor makes him absolutely intimidating. Indeed, such CEOs are in a different world from us. But honestly… he looks like the guy who saved you last night."
- Myra smiled faintly. "Is that so?"
- The elevator continued upward, and one by one, the people exited on their respective floors.
- Leo Clark, Tony's assistant, was about to press the button for an upward floor when he suddenly gasped. Tony followed his gaze to the white shirt before him and spotted a faint lipstick mark on the chest, resembling a rose quietly blooming.
- "Mr. Hart, your shirt…" Leo sounded worried. Tony had always been particular about his image, and having lipstick stains on his white shirt seemed a bit improper. But Leo could tell that his boss was very interested in that woman; otherwise, he wouldn't have jumped into the pool like a madman to save her last night.
- Tony gave him a fleeting glance. "If I'm not mistaken, we have a project that needs to be negotiated with their company. Have the person in charge of the project liaise with me."
- "And your shirt, sir…"
- Tony smoothed out the lipstick mark on his white shirt, his expression softening. "I'll deal with it."
- As Leo observed his softened expression, he recalled how his boss had asked him to stop the elevator earlier. Coupled with how Tony had behaved the night before, he quickly realized that his boss might have fallen in love with that woman. Oh my! When did Boss first meet that woman? Could it be love at first sight?
- …
- This was the first time Myra brought the initial draft to Hart Group, so she didn't expect to outshine the other competitors immediately. After discussing with Logan, the manager of the Project Department at Hart Group, Myra led Tilly back to their company.
- As they returned to the parking lot below Chase Group, they saw a familiar black Lamborghini brushing past from the side. Myra saw a seductive woman in the passenger seat stand up and plant a fierce kiss on the man driving—the woman wasn't Eris but Elsie.
- Elsie Foster was also a team leader in the Design Department, at the same level as Myra, but because of Sean's favoritism, she always liked to make things difficult for Myra.
- Myra felt disgusted. Sean was playing with two women at the same time.
- Suddenly, the screech of brakes sounded, startling Tilly beside her. "Oh my! What kind of driving is that?!"
- Myra remained expressionless, but her face turned frighteningly pale. Sean did it on purpose, didn't he? He must've seen me but deliberately drove the car close!
- Now, she desperately wanted to end this marriage. However, with the interests of two families involved over the years, the elders of both families would never easily agree if she mentioned divorce. They only cared about their interests, considering marital happiness as something optional. But she was different from them. She just wanted to reclaim her assets and then get a divorce.
- "It's okay, let's go up." Myra took a deep breath, feeling her heart ache unbearably. For so many years, she had loved the wrong person, wasting so much time.
