Chapter 5 Apologise to the Teacher

  • Upon entering the classroom, Mason stood by the doorway, observing Laura with an aloof expression.
  • He was taken aback by the girl who had recently confessed her feelings for him in a love letter.
  • Only days before, she had appeared shy and submissive, unable to find her voice around him.
  • However, today she showed an unexpected boldness, even going as far as menacing the teacher with a math ruler.
  • Could it be that her inability to cope with rejection after confessing her feelings led her to behave this way in an attempt to capture his attention?
  • Mason found this newfound aspect of Laura even more distasteful.
  • He regarded her with a stern expression and declared firmly, "Physically confronting a teacher in public can lead to serious repercussions. It would be wise of you to apologise to the teacher without delay."
  • "Look, there's your crush Mason!" Lucas remarked to Laura, trying to lighten the mood.
  • Despite the awkward incident earlier when she had removed his hand from her shoulder, he chose not to touch her again.
  • "Even your crush is criticising you. Why not behave properly and leave an impression? Maybe he'll notice you!"
  • It was the original owner of this body who had feelings for Mason, not her.
  • Laura held the math ruler firmly in her hand.
  • "Fine, you think it's okay to hit a teacher, huh? I'll call your parents right away! They should see how you behave!"
  • Noticing her silence, Inaya became annoyed and reached for her phone to find the contact information of Laura's parents.
  • "What's this?" Just as the teacher was searching for Laura's parents' contact details, a student in the room interrupted.
  • Abruptly, the student picked up a weathered black item.
  • "What's this thing? It looks ... mouldy, doesn't it?" The student wrinkled their nose in distaste, grabbed the item, and threw it out of the classroom window.
  • "Yuck, that's gross!"
  • Laura caught sight of this occurrence.
  • She had no intention to look, but her striking dark eyes widened as she witnessed the scene.
  • It was ... Blood Gem!
  • Despite its dirty surface, which made it look unappealing, Laura could immediately tell it was likely the reason for her rebirth into this new body—the Blood Gem!
  • Laura tucked away the ruler that had been held against Inaya's neck.
  • Just moments earlier, Mason had been questioning why she seemed to be ignoring him, wondering if perhaps she no longer had feelings for him.
  • Although he didn't share her feelings, being a proud and charismatic person, Mason couldn't stand the idea of Laura, who had once admired him, losing interest so suddenly.
  • Seeing her obediently put away the ruler, thinking that his words had made a difference, he breathed a sigh of relief.
  • However, in the next moment, Laura quickly approached the classroom window.
  • Next, she boldly raised one foot and decisively placed it on the windowsill.
  • Then, without hesitation, she hurled herself out of the classroom window in front of everyone.
  • "Oh my gosh, we're on the third floor!"
  • "Oh my goodness! She jumped!"
  • The students' exclamations, along with the pale faces of the two teachers, rushed down the stairs with great urgency.
  • Laura's completely lost her mind today!
  • When Inaya, Albert, and a group of students, including Mason, rushed to the lawn behind the school building, the expected scene of Laura being thrown and injured did not unfold.
  • Instead, what greeted them was Laura standing nonchalantly on level ground as if nothing had happened.
  • It was as if her jump into the air moments ago had never happened.
