Chapter 30

• I lifted my head off his chest to look around. Everyone looked sad and angry, all at the same time. “I’m okay.” I told them.
• “Out!” Victor barked.
• Turning, I looked up to see he had tears on his face as his red eyes looked back down at me. I heard the door close but didn’t look to see if everyone had gone. Leaning back, he wiped a tear off my cheek. I wanted to tell him I was okay, but somehow knew he didn’t want to hear me say that again.
