Chapter 23

• Drew sat on my bed patiently as I strapped on my boots.
• I could feel his eyes on me with every move I made. Still, I didn’t allow him the benefit of satisfaction of knowing that he affected me with something as simple as his gaze. I simply tried to keep my breathing level as I moved around my room.
• He had been here before the sun had even set in the sky, simply because he refused to meet me in town like I asked him to. I didn’t make a big fuss though. I’ve learnt that I will never be able to escape his protective nature.
