• I hung up the phone, separating my lips from hers. After we regained our composure, I explained what had happened. Automatically, I noticed the concern in her eyes, and it touched me. I promised her that I would bring her friend back safe and sound.
• I stepped out of the limousine, adjusting the discomfort in my pants, and gave her one last kiss. I signaled for the security guards to stay by my wife's side and inform her that we had found Mrs. Miller. I hoped they hadn't done anything to her because what they would receive from my boss and friend, Norman Miller, would be even worse. As his enforcer, I was willing to kill if required.
