Chapter 64 The Kidnapping Of Mrs Miller I
- Yvaine.
- I woke up feeling calmer, compared to what had happened the day before. With all the information we had obtained, discovering that my parents had been murdered, and that my cousin's real father was likely responsible, almost drove me crazy. I didn't know the motives, but I suspected that my aunt had something to do with it. She wasn't directly responsible, of course, but she was the reason Edward Wayne ordered the killing of my parents.
- Norman had told me that he would take care of finding the truth and if my suspicions were correct. I didn't want what I had discovered yesterday to cloud the tranquility of my current life. So, after the discomfort I felt yesterday when I realized that I had been deceived by people I thought loved me, I felt sorry for my mother. She lived surrounded by true tyrants, from her parents to her sister. Luckily, she met my father. I still remembered how he went out of his way to make her happy and how much they loved each other. He tried to compensate her for being excluded from her family, which is why he allowed my aunt to have contact with them, even though my mother endured her insults when my father wasn't around. However, I believe that, to my father's dismay, this only generated more hatred from my aunt towards my mother, which multiplied with my birth.
