Bethany pushed herself to stand, taking a few deep breaths as her chest heaved with the effort. She glared menacingly at Elio, warning, “Don't test my patience, or you'll regret it!”
Meanwhile, an officer next to her abruptly slapped the table. “Elio, for god's sake, open your eyes wide, this is a police station, a very serious place. Stop messing around or you'll be the one to suffer!”
Elio spoke seriously. “I am innocent, so I am relaxed. I also believe that the police station will provide me with a fair explanation. Therefore, I am fearless.”
