Chapter 9 Let's Divorce
- "How dare you call me mean? Do you want it or not?" Jon sounded sinister and seductive.
- "Ah…"
- The moans on the phone intensified.
- Clara gripped the phone and continued listening. Her lashes trembled, but her gaze remained firm.
- Her heart pained as if being stabbed repeatedly. It was hard to breathe.
- But she did not want to hang up.
- Why do I insist on maintaining this marriage?
- This marriage gives me nothing but endless hurt.
- There is no hint of joy.
- Perhaps, I am longing for how nice he was in the past and am holding on to the tiny bit of hope that he would change. Maybe that is why I remained in this marriage.
- But now, I must remember this cruelty and remind myself of how evil he is whenever I think of him.
- "Jon, will Clara seek revenge if she catches us? Ah…" Jon's secretary said in between moans.
- "What the heck!" Jon groaned furiously and said, "Don't talk about her in the middle of sex!"
- The secretary replied, "Why, Jon? Does it spoil your mood when I talk about her? What if I don't want to stop?"
- "Since you know, why do you still keep mentioning her? You're ruining my mood." Jon said disdainfully.
- Clara pursed her lips and could not stop her tears from flowing.
- It was not because she still love him. Instead, she cried out of pity for her past self.
- She loved Jon with all she had and allowed him to hurt and betray her.
- If she persisted in loving him, it would be a disservice to herself.
- The call ended abruptly.
- Clara lay down on the bed and stared at the white ceiling. She felt a wave of pain slowly spread from her heart, coursing along her vessels and throughout her body.
- …
- Meanwhile, the secretary looked at the phone smugly in Jon's villa.
- She had secretly made a voice recording of her affair with Jon.
- I must have driven her mad with fury this time.
- Suddenly, Jon came out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist. He looked sexy and dangerous.
- He took his phone languidly and checked the call log. However, his gaze suddenly turned cold upon seeing Clara's name. He looked at the secretary and asked, "Did you call her?"
- The secretary was stunned and began shaking with fear. Tears welled up in her eyes as she said, "Jon, I just wanted to…"
- However, Jon's phone beeped before she could explain.
- It was a message from Clara. 'Jon, let's divorce! I won't claim any marital assets or propose any conditions. We shall meet in court tomorrow.'
- Jon narrowed his eyes and called Clara immediately.
- "Clara, what is the meaning of this?"
- Although he had asked for a divorce before, his instinct told him that something was different about Clara this time.
- She was serious.
- On the other hand, Clara had never felt this calm before.
- She had caught Jon with many women throughout these three years and had long turned numb.
- If not for her mother, Clara would never force herself to sustain this marriage.
- Thus, she closed her eyes and replied, "Your lover kidnapped me. When I escaped, I saw you having sex with her in the car. It was then that I found out you planned all this."
- "But I never planned for you to have sex with another man." Jon argued furiously.
- "If you didn't abduct me to the wilderness, would that have happened? Even if you didn't plan it, your lover probably did. I don't understand why you keep doing this to me!" Clara's eyes were filled with hatred.
- "It's because you are a bitch!" Jon scolded without rationality.
- "Yes, I'm a bitch! But I don't want to be a bitch anymore! Let's divorce. See you in court tomorrow!"
- She hung up right after saying that.
- Jon turned to Aria with bloodshot eyes. He looked so furious that he could kill her at any moment.
- Aria could not hear what Clara was saying, but seeing Jon's expression made her tremble in fear.
- "What did you tell her?" Jon asked with a murderous and chilling glare.
- "No… I didn't. I only wanted…" Aria fell silent again. She did not know what to say to calm his fury.
- "What did you tell her?" Jon shouted.
- The shout frightened Aria, and she answered frankly, "I didn't say anything. I only sent her a voice recording of us having sex."
- Jon slapped Aria's face and glared at her murderously. "Who gave you the right to do that?"
- Aria fell to the floor and kneeled before Jon. She clung to his leg and said, "I just wanted her to know her place and leave you."
- Jon gripped her neck. He could have killed her if he applied a little more pressure.
- "Who do you think you are? You are nothing but a toy to me. What gives you the right to make her leave me?" Jon yelled furiously.
- Aria's face blanched.
- She gasped for air. She begged continuously, "Jon… Jon… Please forgive me!"
- Jon did not loosen his grip. Instead, the murderous intent in his eyes intensified.
- Suddenly, his phone rang, so he let go of Aria immediately.
- Aria sprawled on the floor coughing and trying to breathe.
- Jon answered the call.
- It was his subordinate. "Sir, I found the car plate you requested. It is from a car belonging to the senior leader of the special troops, James Frazer."
- The killing intent in Jon's eyes disappeared instantly. He pursed his lips and said, "Oh, it's him. Where is Clara? Has she returned to her apartment?"
- "She followed James onto the cruise. It will only return to shore tomorrow morning." His subordinate said.
- Jon turned red with fury. He gritted his teeth and said viciously, "I'll play with them tomorrow. No one is allowed to touch my woman."
- "Yes, sir."
- Jon hung up. He turned to Aria coldly and ordered, "You are to leave here in three days. Don't let me see you again."
- "Jon, please no. I love you. I can't bear to leave you." Aria pleaded.
- "Scram." Jon kicked Aria away without a hint of compassion in his gaze. He called a number and said, "Remove all houses, companies, cars, and luxury goods under her name. Also, cancel all her bank accounts connected to me and kill her."
- Aria's face turned ashen. She crumpled onto the floor in despair.
