• I could hear the crowd's excitement when Alpha Edward was declared the winner, and I wasn’t even surprised by it. I already knew in my heart that he would win from the beginning of the match.
• When our eyes met, I looked away, wondering why he was staring at me. When I was sure he wasn’t looking my way anymore, I returned my gaze and realized he had returned to his throne. I saw him talking to a man, and I had to look away and scan my eyes around the multitude of the crowd. My eyes met with a few people, and they stared at me with disgust—not only me, but they stared at all the prisoners with disgust.
