• Isabella was startled out of her reverie and lifted her face up to look at Matteo when he said those words cruelly. She felt at ease being close to him and relieved that he wasn't going to sell her to those old men so they could have their evil-way with her. She averted her gaze to the old-men and smiled broadly when she saw the shock on their faces; they must be disappointed.
