  • I struggled to pull his hands away and didn't notice when the door opened; I didn't hear footsteps, but I did hear the sound of a gun cocking. I looked up at the source; my eyes landed on Sin, and he was fuming, pointing the gun at the man next to me. I breathed out a sign of relief. I was so happy to see him. I felt oddly protected with him here. My heart was pounding when Sin pulled me up to stand behind him. I was shivering in fear at the thought of what could have happened had Sin not shown up.
  • The man raised both his hands in surrender with a terrified expression on his face; his body trembled, and his face showed how afraid he was. not so confident after all.
