Chapter 79

  • By the time she arrived at the pack house, Blaire's spirit was disturbed. Her anxiety was at the highest level. The very thought of what could happen to her on arrival was absolutely overwhelming. She had to battle with feelings of worthlessness and severe guilt. She saw herself as a fugitive running away from the law.
  • The pack members had already made up their minds to punish her severely for escaping prison, a crime that would be punished by death. She had been interrogated about her whereabouts, and Miranda was found to be guilty of aiding in the crime. When they were accused, her father fought the chief of the prison guards tooth and nail, trying his best to defend his family, but ultimately, he was restrained and put down. Her mother, who had always been a quiet and passive woman, accepted her fate without resistance, knowing the penalty for her daughter's mischief.
  • Blaire didn't want to accept her fate either. She did everything she could to escape the pack members holding her down. She resisted, thrashing around, even though she knew it was futile. She threw tantrums and created a scene but all to no avail. She was captured, bound and shackled.
