• Dax settled himself beside Blaire, intertwining their fingers as he gently held her hand.
• "I've been feeling a bit self-conscious lately, especially since we severed the mate bond," he confessed, his thumb caressing the back of her hand. The tension emanating from him was palpable, but Blaire sought to alleviate his unease by giving his hand a reassuring squeeze.
• "You should have said, since I broke the bond," She responded with a tinge of guilt evident in her voice. "If only I could undo it."
