Chapter 30 Shadows In The Court

• Ariella and Kael escorted Lord Ralston back to the palace under heavy guard. The traitor was bound and gagged, his sullen eyes glaring at them with unspoken defiance. As the morning sun rose over Elandor, its golden rays did little to pierce the gloom that hung over the kingdom.
• The council was hastily summoned to an emergency session. Whispers of betrayal and rebellion filled the chamber as the advisors took their seats.
• Ariella stood at the head of the table, her gaze sweeping over the assembled members. "Lord Ralston has been arrested on charges of treason," she announced, her voice steady and firm. "He has conspired with the rebellion to undermine this kingdom and its people."
