Chapter 25 - One At Last
- The following two days were relatively peaceful. Julian would go to work, return in the evening, and spend the night with Emma.
- Emma refused to speak with others and stayed inside her room wearing her mask. The maids who came to send her dinner could only see her sad eyes.
- The consensus of the household help was that the surrogate was a disliked woman, somehow chosen to carry the master's baby.
