Chapter 140 Baby Shower Invitation Cards

• On Friday morning Sandra invited her friends for lunch at His Wings restaurant. When she saw Macy she became angry and said, “Macy, Serene told me that you refused to help her when she needed you the most and she nearly lost her baby, is it true?” Macy shot a glance at her and sneered, “Sandra, I’m tired of being Serene’s friend, she doesn’t take our friendship serious. My parents nearly lost their company because of me. Since we were released from the police custody she never checked on me even once, do you blame me for not wanting to be friends with her? I have caused my parents so much pain, I don’t want to be her friend anymore.” Sandra nodded her head and said, “I hear you Macy I think I would have done the same too.” The waitress gave them the menu then she left. Sandra looked at his friends and said, “Guys, I invited you here to discuss Serene’s baby shower. She is thirty five weeks pregnant, why don’t we hold her baby shower this coming Saturday?” Macy replied, “I think it would be great because it is my grandmother birthday banquet the following Saturday. Let’s allocate the task to everyone.” Linda smiled and replied, “I will be responsible for food.” They all laughed out loud because Linda was a foodie. Samantha raised her hand and said, “I will be responsible for decorating the venue.” Samantha was an Interior Designer; she was very popular with her unique talent. Macy indicated that she would be responsible for the invitation cards. SSandra was very happy that everything was coming to place and said, “I will be responsible for the venue, I’m torn between His Wings restaurant and His Glory hotel, what do you think guys?” Samantha replied, “I prefer His Glory hotel because it’s cozy. Last week I was in my colleague’s baby shower, we were given our own private room and it was spacious. Why don’t we make the booking today?” Sandra quickly dialed His Glory hotel’s number and made the booking; the venue was available then she paid the deposit. Macy smiled at them and said, “we don’t have enough time to prepare, let’s finalize everything today. I will send the invitation cards today, please give me the Guest list and their email addresses.” Then she took out the notebook from her bag and started writing. They invited twenty people including Mrs Johnson. Linda raised her hand and said, “Guys, why don’t we ask His Glory hotel to provide us with food as well? How much do we need to cover all the expenses?” Sandra told then that the hotel charged them R1000 per hour, so she paid them R2000 deposit. Samantha indicated that she had decoration stuff at home. They decided to ask the hotel to provide them with finger lunch platters. Linda called the hotel and said, “we are having a baby shower on Saturday in your hotel, we would like to order finger lunch platters. How much do you charge per platter?” TThe hotel Manager replied, “for hot vegetarian platter we charge R400, for sea food we charge R500 per platter, for sandwiches we charge R250 per platter, for Sushi we charge R500 per platter, for Savory platter we charge R400 per platter, Greek Salad we charge R450 per platter, Fruit kebab we charge R350 per platter, for Sweet platter we charge R300 per platter and for Chicken and Rib platter we charge R500 per platter.” Since they were expecting twenty people they decided to order two platters each and juice. The hotel Manager took the order and told Linda that two jugs of juice was free, extra jug cost R50. Sandra was very happy then she said, “Guys, I will pay for the venue, do you think four hours would be enough?” Samantha replied, “I think it would be enough, we need to start on time. I will pay R5000 towards food.” Linda and Macy immediately wired R5000 each to Samantha to cover for food. Macy smiled at them and said, “what time are you starting?” Samantha replied, “let’s start at 12 pm, I will arrived at 11 am to decorate the venue.” Macy said, “I heard that Sugar Lump has beautiful clothes and they do have two set per clothes.” Samantha nodded her head, “I bought a beautiful dress from my colleague’s, it was so cute. The shop assistant told me that it was the only dress in the world. Designer Ray is so talented, I bought clothes for my future baby since Mark is no longer designing.” They all laughed at her and Linda said, “Designer Ray indicated that he would be back after five years, you are not even married yet.” Samantha replied, “what if I get married next year? LLet’s go to Sugar Lump today, you will fall in love with those tiny little skirts and little pants. Designer Ray is very talented he took baby clothes to another level. We used to buy Baby Growers and vests for baby showers but since Designer Ray introduced those tiny little dresses and pants we don’t even look at them.” They finished their food then they went to the Sugar Lump, they were amazed when they saw the baby clothes. They bought a lot of clothes then they left. Linda was so excited and said, “it’s my first time I went to Sugar Lump, I will keep some of the clothes for my future baby as well. Wow, I haven’t see something so cute before. Victoria is so lucky she is married to the most handsome man, and she wore clothes designed by her husband. Their babies will wear clothes designed by their father; she is really blessed.” They all nodded their heads and sighed. Macy said, “she is the most beautiful girl I ever see and smart and soft hearted. I heard that she played a major role for her husband and her father in law to reconcile. I used to think that she failed to capture James’ heart, but the truth of the matter is that she had someone in her heart all along, she was just waiting for the divorce.” They nodded their heads, Linda replied, “I used to hate her too for marrying James. When I was watching the TV show, I was so shocked to hear that she proposed to Mark, she was really brave.” Samantha laughed and said, “it is true that fortune favors the brave, she took a leap of faith.” Macy said, “it was lovely to see you again, let me go home and design the invitation cards.” They hugged each other then they left. Macy quickly designed the invitation cards then she sent the invites by email. She called James and let him know about Serene’s baby shower then she asked for his mother’s email address. Macy sent an invite to James’ mother then she called her, “Auntie, we are having Serene’s baby shower on Saturday, I just sent you an invite please keep it as a secret.” Mrs Johnson thanked Macy then they hung up, she quickly opened her mailbox. She was so sad when she saw the venue because she was banned in all Anthony’s hotels and restaurants. Her husband was in his study room, she decided to call her husband. She quickly dialed his number. When the call was connected she said, “Hubby, I received an invitation card from Serene’s friends, they are holding a baby shower for our grandchild, but the venue is His Glory hotel. I really want to attend, he is my first grandson, please speak to Victoria for me.” Her husband promised to speak to Victoria then they hung up. Mrs Johnson was in good spirit after she spoke to her husband.
