• For the rest of that afternoon, I avoided Kieran like the plague. This party isn’t even about me, it’s about Connor and Taylor. So I stay out of his way as much as possible, mingle with everybody, and drink spicy margaritas like it’s water. Luckily for me, the house is huge, so there’s plenty of space for both of us to exist without running into each other.
• There were moments in that afternoon, somewhere in between being tipsy and catching that Miami vibe, where I forgot about how terrible the wolf world had been to me. The people at this party are nice, and no one knows or cares about who I am. It’s very different from high school and I understand why Connor and Taylor say these people are their closest friends.
