• Later that night, I lie in bed thinking. It’s already past 2 AM and I still can’t sleep. My mind is hounded with thoughts about Taylor’s engagement party and what that means for me. Taylor wants an answer by tomorrow and I’m still on the fence about going.
• Taylor is my last connection to the wolf world. Not seeing her all these years, I kind of lost touch with that part of my identity. I never felt truly welcome being a half-breed in that world. And remembering those days in high school only made me depressed, so I try as much as possible to not go there. Then as I got together with Nick, my connection to the wolf-world became more and more insignificant. With where my life is going right now, I’ll probably marry Nick someday, have a normal human life and have normal human kids. So that world is gone.
