• While I was eating the delicious breakfast Dante made for me, I got a surprising call from my parents and my heart has been beating like a drum ever since. It’s June right now and my parents think it’s a good idea to come to New York and spend the rest of the year close to me. They said they have an important business investment in this side of the world and they’re preparing to build a new company here in New York.
• And of course, their investor is the man they want to set me up with for marriage. I’m not going to lie and say I have a good relationship with my parents. All my life they controlled my choices and decisions. It’s even because of my parents that I’m a therapist today and I love my job but sometimes I can’t help but wonder what my life would have been like if my parents didn’t dictate my every move. I wonder where I would be today if my parents didn’t plan out my entire life for me. It took everything to even half convince them to let me work in New York because they didn’t like the idea of me being far away from them.
